Ana Gaylo, Registered Hygienist in our Clifton Park office, will be going to Africa May 16th, for 2 weeks to provide her services at the Canaan Children’s Home in Uganda. This is Ana’s 3rd trip to the orphanage where she provides preventative treatment and educates patients on practicing good oral hygiene. Our offices are proud to be donating the dental care supplies for her to give to the children in support of their dental hygiene needs.

We are truly proud of Ana’s efforts and wish her the very best on her trip.  Her efforts make us all examine what we can be doing to help make this world a better place.

It is the biggest weekend of the year for the Adirondack Phantoms as they fight for a spot in the Calder Cup Playoffs! As always, Saratoga Springs Dentists will be encouraging and cheering on the Phantoms. We were able to personally wish one of the leading Phantoms players, Mike Testwuide, “good luck”  when he stopped by the office this week.

Dr. Zach was born in Buffalo, N.Y. and grew up in Delhi, N.Y. He publishes articles in pharmacy, dental and nature journals as well as pharmacy textbooks. His other pursuits include tennis, sprinting, snowshoeing and gardening.

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our founder, Dr. Miles A. Kletter.  He was a skilled clinician, a willing mentor, a community leader, wonderful father and a beloved friend. His inspiration will be missed but never forgotten.  Indeed, our office and this community has lost a valuable member.

Dr. Miles Alan Kletter, 69, local dentist and longtime resident of Saratoga Springs, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2012 after a courageous battle against cancer. Born on Nov. 6, 1942 in the Bronx, Miles was a beloved husband, father, uncle, brother, son, grandfather, and father-in-law. He graduated from Far Rockaway High School, Brooklyn College and the University of Pennsylvania Dental School, where he received his D.M.D. He served as a dentist in the U.S. Air Force at the Fort Drum military base in Watertown, NY. While there, Miles met Marilyn Morris, who became his wife and lifelong partner. Throughout his life, Miles was active in numerous local and national organizations, including serving on the Saratoga School Board (President), Shaari Tefilah Synagogue (President), the Jewish Federations of Albany and Palm Beach County, and numerous dental associations. Miles practiced dentistry in Saratoga from 1969 until his retirement in 1998. Miles spent his winters in Boynton Beach, Florida, where he enjoyed relaxing and playing golf and tennis with friends and family. He also loved to travel; Miles and Marilyn had adventures in many countries throughout the world. Family and friends remember his zest for life and great sense of humor. Miles was well known for his varied interests and hobbies, including motorcycle riding, stamp and coin collecting, boating, fishing, raising chickens, astronomy, carriage-horse driving, piloting planes, and Jewish studies. Along with his wife Marilyn, he set up a foundation dedicated to erecting Holocaust memorials throughout the country of Belarus. His greatest passion and joy was his family. There was nothing he enjoyed more than celebrating his childrens’ graduations, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, and baby-namings! He loved cheering them on during their many sports and activities. Miles is survived his wife, Marilyn, whom he married on June 14, 1969; one son, Cary and Cary’s wife, Ha, of San Mateo, Calif; three daughters: Melanie and her husband, Todd, of New York City, Debbie, and her husband Dave, of Loudonville, and Joni and her husband, Doug, of New York City. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Ethan, Hannah, Cody and Julia; two nephews Evan and Jason, and a niece, Michelle. In addition, he is survived by his mother in law, Emmeline Morris, and sister-in-law Karen Morris. Also many grand-nieces and nephews, many close cousins, and his dental partner of many many years, Dr. Andrew Levine and wife Barbara. In addition, he is survived by many close and dear friends in both Saratoga Springs and Boynton Beach, Fla., all of whom provided a wondrous support system of love and kindness during the last 9 months of his life, when he was valiantly fighting cancer. He is pre-deceased by his father, Ernest, his mother, Carole, his brother, Ronald, his sister in law Judi, his aunts, Esther and Harriet, and Uncle Willie. The funeral is private and at the convenience of the family, being held in New York City. A period of mourning, shiva, is being observed, and friends are cordially invited to call on the family Friday January 20, 1-4pm and Sunday January 22, 1-5pm (No Saturday), at the family home in Knoll Spring Park. Donations may be made in Dr. Kletter’s name to , Hope Lodge , NYC, or Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital, NYC, or donations may be made to Jewish Federation of Northeastern NY, 184 Washington Ave., Albany NY, 12203, either to them directly, or earmarked to the Belarus project of his family’s foundation, which continues to work to place tasteful memorials to the holocaust victims of World War ll at various massacre sites in the country of Belarus.
