Meet Dr. McCarthy
Dr. Mccarthy is a New York native born and raised on the east end of Long Island. Dr. McCarthy graduated with his D.M.D from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
After completing his doctorate, Dr. McCarthy completed a 2-year AEGD program at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, where he received additional training in restorative dentistry, oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, and fixed and removable prosthodontics.
Dr. McCarthy enjoys demystifying dentistry for people he treats and providing compassionate, high-quality dental treatment.
Dr. McCarthy enjoys spending his free time trying new recipes, visiting local farmers' markets, hiking, and skiing.

What is your Philosophy of care? I like to involve patients in active discussion of their oral health and treatment options. I treat each patient like a teammate in their own care. I like to make patients invested in their own care with the ultimate goal of providing treatment that is compassionate, conservative as possible, and high quality.
What is your area of interest in dentistry? Helping patients feel comfortable with dentistry. Improving patients' oral hygiene and trying to explain dental procedures in an accessible way.
Where did you grow up and what brought you here? I grew up on Long Island and moved to the area for residency at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center
What do you love most about this area? The perfect balance of livability, local activities, and proximity to the outdoors
What is your favorite activity outside of work? I love to cook- I enjoy looking up and trying new recipes and using fresh produce I find at the local farmers market.
