Let’s be honest, who likes going to the dentist? Not me! But Dr Ruckert makes the appointments as pleasant and comical as a dental appointment can be. I had previously been told by another’s dentist I needed thousands of dollars of work done. Dr Ruckert showed me my imaging and explained what really needed to be done and why which was very little work. He gained my trust at that point. The staff is truly welcoming. It’s a very easy going atmosphere and you can tell the staff genuinely likes working together. You can hear the giggling between coworkers which is a comforting feeling when you’re about to have a pair of them working together on your mouth. :) More

Dr. Ruckert is the absolute best! He is kind, gentle, and extremely knowledgeable. (And funny.) He takes his time and makes sure you know all the options for your treatment. Dr. Ruckert is the BEST! I came in with a serious infection and cavity in my molar. He created a play for treatment which consisted if my tooth being removed. He took my molar out AND my wisdom tooth with just numbing medicine . He did such a great job that I had no pain, discomfort or swelling the next day. I was healed in a week. I have never liked going to a dentist,but clifton park dentistry is always a pleasant experience. The staff is very friendly and dr Cavanaugh is awesome...they never hassle you fir payments at checking out..I found it embarrassing when the receptionist yells out your total bill in front of everyone at other offices...you won't find that here. I was very impressed with Dr. Kavanagh. He got down to business quickly and with a quiet confidence that put me at ease. During my appointment he swiftly removed layers of cement that required much force and skilled hands, and he did so without causing pain or discomfort or damage to my gums/mouth. Other dentists had avoided this task, and i suspect had they done it, it would have taken forever and caused damage. I also noted he had excellent communication with his hygienist and they worked like a well-oiled machine. The staff have always been really pleasant too. I can't say I've had good experiences with the past dentists at this particular office, nope, can't say that-but they've always been very nice and good intentioned. I'll leave it that. More

I had been going to the same Dentist for 20 years and recently made the switch to Clifton Park Family Dentistry due to my previous Dr. retiring. I didn't really know what to expect for my first appointment/cleaning here but from the moment I walked in the door until I left, my experience was unlike any other dental visit I've had! Megan was my hygienist and did an amazing job. She is super friendly and you can tell she loves her job! She was incredibly thorough in explaining my X-rays and took her time to answer all of of the questions I had. I went in to have a filling replaced today and there was worry of a possible need for a root canal🤕. Dr. Ruckert and Courtney did a great job and all I needed was just a filling. Friendly, positive, and assuringly professional the whole time. Over all great experience even though 3 hours later my mouth is still numb from the novacain. I didn't feel a thing with the drilling and filling so I'm not complaining. Highly recommend!! More

I have been here about 4x for a cleaning in the last couple years. I have had double jaw surgery, braces 3x, severe trauma at past dentists, root canal and tooth extraction. This is the only dental office I have been to that takes me seriously when I warn them of my trauma ever visit to be extra careful and gentle. I still get nervous but every time I go it’s a painless and good experience. They also have flouride free products and are incredibly kind. Never a bad experience! Highly recommend. I had my teeth cleaned today by Linda, the dental hygienist here. She was absolutely wonderful. She was very professional and compassionate as well. She was very thorough and explained everything as she worked with me. My last hygienist I had there did half of what Linda did and I didn't realize how much less of an effort the other hygienist put in cleaning my teeth, until Linda cleaned them. I have never laughed so much during a root canal. Due to horrible experiences as a child I standardly hate the dentist but I've been going to Dr. Ruckert at Clifton park family dentistry since I was 16 and I have always felt very comfortable there. I drive in about 30 minutes to see him and his team because he is the only dentist I have ever liked. The whole staff knows me by name and ask about my ma and siblings everytime I visit. And now the story of my root canal: I had some tooth pains at night, woke up and it was even worse so I called the dentist when they opened and they got me an appointment that day and saw me on my lunch break. They were clearly concerned and fast acting to solve the issue, while acomidating my many medication allergies. Dr.R set me up for the root canal in office the next day (again on my lunch break). He and Courtney had such funny back and forth banter as they worked it was like sitting at the dinner table listening to my family talk. At one point Doctor Had to stop the root canal so I could stop laughing and regain composure, even then I spent a good portion of the rest of the visit giggling around the rubber dental dam. More

To give you a little background, I am that patient who absolutely hates going to the dentist and has an exuberant amount of anxiety every time I have to go. I stumbled upon this practice when I had an unexpected dental emergency. This office was able to get me in on the same day as well as complete the procedure I needed performed all within a few hours of calling them. Felicia assured me over the phone that this practice would take good care of me and ease my anxiety. Not only did they do that, they also provided me with excellent care. Dr. Cara and Robin were amazing with me. They walked me through the process, allowed me to stop them if it was too much and they both took the time to answer all my questions. It was if I was talking to my good friends - that’s how welcoming and friendly they were. No one but Dr. Cara and Robin will be taking care of my oral health from here on out! The staff at Clifton Park Family Dentistry is always friendly and helpful. The receptionists greet me with a hello and smile whenever I come in and when they call. The texts and emails they send out are a huge help and reminder. I recently had a bad case of the flu and was able to cancel my appointment and reschedule without any problems. A number of years ago a Dentist who had been treating me told me he could not accept the new insurance my employer had contracted with. Well it turns out my employer had made a mistake and gave me the wrong insurers name. I had already switched to CP Family and I am not sorry for the change. Linda RHD and the Doctors have been fantastic! My teeth are in terrific shape and I know they will continue to keep them that way! And the friendly chit chat is lots of fun, takes your mind off being at the Dentist. More

If I had gone to the oral surgeon the tooth would have been removed w/o question; however, Dr Ruckert spent a long time carefully drilling the tooth and it was able to be saved. The concern and care that both Linda and the doctor show to the patient is amazing. I highly recommend this practice. More

I was initially apprehensive about even going back to a dentist after my previous experiences with “other places”. I met two of the doctors, and they were extremely friendly, helpful and had great personalities. My entire experience here, was amazing. From my initial phone call, with whomever answered the phone, to the Dental Assistant that greeted me, Megan (whom I simple can’t say enough great things about, the Docs, the Office Manager (Who personally came into my room to explain all of the insurance and billing to me). I had 3 appointments, 3 days in a row, and every experience was exactly the same. After 48 years of always dreading going to the dentist office, I will never again have hesitation about walking into this practice!!!! More

I am in my 50’s and as a single parent for going on 2 decades I took care of my child n obviously not myself well now that my child is a adult it’s about me taking care of me. Well unfortunately my insurance didn’t match with them but I would recommend them to anyone needing a dentist they are very caring and professional .. they make you feel relaxed and not embarrassed or ashamed . They went out of their way to find another dentist that accepted my insurance . A rating of 5 stars and I never give 5 stars More

The staff at Clifton Park Family Dentistry is always friendly and helpful. The receptionists greet me with a hello and smile whenever I come in and when they call. The texts and emails they send out are a huge help and reminder. I recently had a bad case of the flu and was able to cancel my appointment and reschedule without any problems. The hygentists and assistance are friendly, knowledgeable and take the time to get to know their patients. The doctors are amazing. I've never liked going to the dentist, but the staff and doctors at CPFD make me feel comfortable and do what they can to ease my anxiety. I really appreciate all they do for me and my family. More
